Erik Cais – Rally driver was born on 5th August 1999. Which is by the way same date of birth like date of birth of phenomenal rally driver Colin McRae who is Erik`s role model in rally racing.
Erik has been affected by rally since his early days. His father was competing in rally for ten years and at the peak of his career he belonged between TOP 10 drivers in the CzechRepublic in his era (1997 – 2008.)
When Erik was 7 years old he started racing mountain bike downhill. He raced bike which was custom made to his needs. In 2015 started his international racing career as he started competing in IXS European Downhill Cup and since 2016, when he reached needed age, he started racing World Cups in MTB DH. In same year he also became member of Slovakian factory team CTM Racing.
His team mates were best Czech and Slovak downhill riders. For 2017 his main goal were World Cup races. Unfortunately during training runs he had hard crash and broke his collarbone in 4 pieces. After long recovery he decided not to compete in MTB DH again as he wanted to start doing sport he has loved since his child days – rally.
Orsák Rally Sport prepares Erik`s rally car and provides starts for Erik in the Czech republic and also in foreign countries. It is the biggest Czech rally team and in its fleet you can find three Ford Fiesta R5s, two Peugeot 208 R2s, two Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 9s and two Opel Adam Cup for beginners.
This team has a lot of experience with logistics and also races in the Czech republic and foreign countries. His services were used in the past by many great pilots such as Sepp Wiegand (D), Peer Kristiansen (NOR), Jan Černý (CZE), Martin Vlček (CZ), Jarek Szeja (PL) and also by the team principal Jaroslav Orsák (CZE).
In 2018 Orsák Rally Sport made big step forward and moved to new facilities in Brumov-Bylnice they has opened brand new team base. Now they are allowed to prepare 12 race cars in one moment!
